On Saturday, May 17, 2025  Mrs. Annette Hughes was one of the panelists at the Community Justice Seminar hosted by Cynthia & Christopher McGarity of Rehoboth Family and Community Services. The event was held at Cobb County’s Premier event venue, Riverside EpiCenter, located in Austell, Georgia.

This meaningful event had a great turnout with stirring journeys from reformed men and women who were impacted by the criminal justice system. The esteemed panel speakers shared their expertise and experiences. Mrs. Hughes also shared, providing insights on the various trauma and mental health challenges faced by our returning population.

"I believe we can agree that it’s important that we dispel the stigma attached to our returnees and embrace their eventual return by making sure we have ongoing conversations on what’s to come, providing needed resources and opportunities, while we continue keeping our communities safe.” - Mrs. Hughes, Panel Speaker

Rehoboth Family and Community Services was founded by Cynthia and Christopher McGarity. Along with their son, Koron Webb and daughter, Andrea Weaver, Rehoboth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to families and communities identified within the criminal justice system where they engage traumatized-impacted families, on both sides of the courtroom. Rehoboth's mission is to share resources and information, and to help families overcome challenges to thrive in their communities.
